Vehicle matching description of vehicle involved in a drive by shooting found

UPDATE (4:05pm)-- Fort Myers Police have found a vehicle matching the description of a car believed to be involved in a drive-by shooting that left 23 year old Keion Upshaw deceased.

"Currently, we cannot comment on any possible developments in the recent homicide investigation; however, we do anticipate a release tomorrow morning with any new information." Jeff Meyers, Deputy Police Chief Fort Myers Police Department.


Police have identified a man found shot to death in a drive-by shooting in Fort Myers on Saturday.

According to Fort Myers Police, multiple shot were reported along Gardenia Avenue at 5:12 p.m. Saturday. Officers arrived to find 23-year-old Keion Upshaw suffering from gunshot wounds.

Upshaw was taken to Lee Memorial, where he died from his wounds.

Police say a silver SUV, believed to be a Nissan Kicks, had driven down the road at that time.

Keion Upshaw would've turned 24 on Monday, November 4th. According to his family he leaves behind two kids, a 4 month old and 5-year-old. Family and friends gathering Monday evening to release birthday balloons in his honor. Councilman Johnny Streets has been family friends of Keion Upshaw's family for years.

“On behalf of the city council and the mayor we share their heart felt sympathy and we wanted them to know we are behind the police department in getting this taken care of," said Councilman Johnny Streets, Fort Myers.
